MIAMI, FLORIDA, MAY 18, 2005 – Niles Audio Corporation, The First Name in Custom Installation®, announces the official release of its award winning whole-house distributed audio system dubbed IntelliControl® ICS (Integrated Control Solutions). The system accommodates all the popular sources; delivers metadata to its keypad, touch screen and handheld remote controllers; and installs with no complicated programming. This enables custom installation professionals to deliver maximum customer satisfaction while capturing high attainable profit levels that other systems do not provide.

The IntelliControl ICS lineup consists of the GXR2 six-source, six-zone modular multi-zone receiver that accommodates any combination of up to six iPod® interface modules, XM® satellite tuner modules, Sirius® satellite tuner modules, AM/FM tuner modules, or audio input modules that integrate legacy audio sources like CD, DVD, and satellite TV into the system.
Additionally, there are four user interfaces that include wall mountable keypads, a color touch screen, and a hand-held RF remote controller dubbed the iRemote®. The user interfaces provide real-time user feedback in the form of metadata menus for intuitive source navigation and operation. Multiple GXR2 receivers can be linked together to create a distributed audio system that covers up to 30 zones.
The IntelliControl ICS simplified installation and configuration with none of the complicated programming provides the installer a significantly reduced installation time. For consumers it means freedom of choice. Its modularity allows for a very simple configuration with the ability to swap sources or expand as the user adds new ones.
ICS was recently recognized by the Consumer Electronics Association as an Innovations 2006 Design and Engineering Showcase Honoree based on the product's superior standing within the Integrated Home Systems category.

- The GXR2 is a modular multi-zone receiver that accommodates six-source module input bays and delivers a robust 60 watts RMS/channel into six stereo zones. Configuration is accomplished easily using the wizard based IntelliFile(3 software program. Zone linking allows a grouping of zones to be controlled as a single zone. The GXR2 has a MSRP of $2799.95.
Source Integration Module Details:
- The IM-iPOD source integration module provides Apple® iPod® audio streams including metadata. Genre, artist, album, song and track number is delivered to ICS display equipped keypads and remote controls. MSRP is $199.95.
- The IM-AUDIO source integration module provides control over legacy audio devices such as media servers and other products that provide 2-way communication and metadata such as CD, DVD and cable/satellite TV decoders. The MSRP for the IM-AUDIO is $169.95.
- The TM-XM tuner module provides XM® satellite radio streams including metadata. Category, channel name, channel number, artist and song information is delivered to ICS display equipped keypads and remote controls. The MSRP of the TM-XM is $499.95.
- The TM-SIRIUS tuner module provides Sirius® satellite radio streams including metadata. Category, channel name, channel number, artist and song information provided to ICS display equipped keypads and remote controls. The MSRP of the TM-SIRIUS is $499.95.
- The TM-AM/FM tuner module provides AM or FM radio streams with frequency and band information delivered to ICS display equipped keypads and remote controls. The MSRP of the TM-AM/FM is $249.95.
User Interface Details:
- The iRemote® 2-way wireless RF system control remote features plug-and-play integration with the Niles GXR2 for total freedom to control any zone, from anywhere in the house. Ergonomically designed, the iRemote sports a high resolution 2" LCD with LED backlighting, which displays all of the metadata from the sources as well as system status. Includes rechargeable battery, charging base station and power supply. The MSRP of the iRemote is $799.95.
- The Contact is a color touch screen that displays source metadata and allows total system operation from a wall-mounted location using plug-and-play integration with the Niles GXR2. The system control keypad is a high-resolution 3.5" color touch screen display with LED backlighting. The MSRP of the Contact is $749.95.
- The Display is a keypad that displays source metadata and allows total system operation from a wall-mounted location. The keypad features a high-resolution 2" LCD display with LED backlighting. Uses plug-and-play integration with Niles GXR2. The MSRP of the DISPLAY is $399.95.
- The Single is a keypad that allows basic system operation from a wall-mounted location. Fits standard 1 gang box. The Single uses plug-and-play integration with Niles GXR2. The MSRP of the Single is $199.95.
