DENVER, COLORADO, September 6, 2007 – Niles Audio Corporation, The First Name In Custom Installation®, today announced the company is expanding its award-winning assortment of GeoRealistic™ Weatherproof Rock and Planter Loudspeakers to include more options for its customers. The product additions satisfy consumer demands for new style options including shale brown rock and weathered grey concrete planter loudspeakers. The shale brown GeoRealistic style is available in three rock loudspeaker models; RS5, RS6 and RS8Si, and the weathered concrete planter is available in the PS6Si model. All feature Niles’ unique Cone Forward woofer design to deliver sound quality that is on par with premium high fidelity in-door loudspeakers. Their superior quality and natural sound make Niles rocks and planters the professionals’ choice for outdoor loudspeakers.

“We looked at all the rock and planter speakers on the market and quite frankly, none of them looked realistic or sounded musical,” said Frank Sterns, president of Niles. “We knew we could make great sounding speakers that blend seamlessly into any outdoor environment, and we did just that,” Sterns added.

The RS5 rock features a 5-1⁄4" injection-molded TCC (talc, carbon and ceramic) filled polypropylene woofer and a 3⁄4” Kaladex® dome tweeter. The RS6 rock also features Niles’ 6-1/2" proprietary injection-molded TCC woofer and 1" Teteron dome tweeter. The RS8Si rock has an 8" TCC woofer and dual 1" Teteron dome tweeters. The PS6Si planter feature a 6-1/2" injection-molded TCC woofer and dual 1" Teteron dome tweeters. Both the RS8Si and PS6Si can be operated in three modes: monaural, traditional two-speaker stereo or single-speaker stereo input, “Si”, where both left and right channels play simultaneously through one dual voice coil woofer and both tweeters to provide a stereo image. Additionally, the tweeter assembly on the PS6Si has been modified to a movable design so users can adjust the sound dispersion based on the positioning of the speaker. All RS rock loudspeaker models are available in grey granite, speckled granite, tan sandstone, white coral and now shale brown styles. The PS6Si planter loudspeaker is available in terracotta and weathered concrete styles. All three models of shale brown rocks and the weathered concrete planter are on display at the CEDIA Expo in Booth 606 and will be available in the first quarter of 2008.
